Europa Blinds reviews and case studies

Three projects in detail, and where to read what customers actually said.

What Bristol customers say

We let our customers do the talking. You’ll find our reviews on Google and Facebook, and we’d encourage you to read through them before you get in touch – not because we’ve curated a carefully edited highlight reel, but because the consistent themes tell you something real about how we work.

Quality comes up again and again. So does Tim. And so does the fact that people feel heard from the very first conversation, rather than sold to.

Verified customer reviews will appear here. Read them in the meantime on Google and Facebook.

Featured case studies

Every installation is different. These three projects give you a sense of the range of problems we solve – and the kind of results our customers tell us about afterwards.

Period home plantation shutters, Bishopston, Bristol

Property type

Late-Victorian terraced house, three bedrooms

The challenge

Draughty, asymmetrical front bay window with three differently angled panels, significant heat loss in winter, and a lack of privacy from the street without losing light

Products used

Sandringham hardwood plantation shutters, full-height configuration with mid-rail, in soft white finish

Timeline

Free home measure to installation: five weeks

The front reception room of this Bishopston Victorian terrace had always been difficult. The bay window – beautiful from the outside – was draughty, poorly insulated, and sat directly onto a busy pavement. Net curtains were the existing solution. They weren’t working.

Our team visited, measured all three panels of the bay individually, and identified that the angles between them were slightly irregular – a common feature of older properties where the original frames have settled over time. Standard shutters wouldn’t have accounted for this. Ours do.

The Sandringham hardwood shutters were manufactured to the exact millimetre for each panel. The full-height configuration with a mid-rail gives the homeowner independent control over the upper and lower louvres – tilting the top section for light while keeping the lower section closed for privacy from street level. Heat loss through the window dropped noticeably in the first winter, and the kerb appeal from outside has been commented on by neighbours more than once.

Conservatory shading and Markilux awning, North Somerset

Property type

Detached house with south-facing conservatory extension

The challenge

Unusable conservatory from May to September due to direct solar heat gain; glare making the TV unwatchable; no comfortable outdoor shade on the patio beyond

Products used

Pleated cellular blinds on the conservatory roof panels; Perfect Fit pleated blinds on the side windows and doors; Markilux 6000 cassette awning with wind sensor on the exterior

Timeline

Free home measure to installation: three weeks (blinds) and four weeks (awning, concurrent)

South-facing conservatories are a recurring challenge. They’re exactly what homeowners want right up until the point they become too hot to use for half the year. This customer in North Somerset had one of the worst examples we’d seen: floor-to-ceiling glazing, a roof full of direct afternoon sun, and no effective shading at all.

The solution combined three products working together. Cellular pleated blinds on the roof panels trap a layer of air between the fabric and the glass, dramatically reducing the amount of heat that gets through. Perfect Fit pleated blinds on the side windows and doors clip directly into the uPVC beading – no drilling, clean finish, and the doors still open and close without catching the blind. Outside, a Markilux 6000 cassette awning extends to shade the patio and the exterior of the conservatory, with an integrated wind sensor that retracts it automatically in strong gusts.

The homeowner told us the conservatory is now in use year-round. The patio furniture has stayed out for a full summer for the first time in years.

Commercial Durashade vertical blinds, Bristol city centre office

Property type

Open-plan commercial office, ground floor, large south-facing windows

The challenge

Glare on computer screens throughout the afternoon; previous fabric vertical blinds degrading quickly; fire safety compliance required; no budget for motorisation

Products used

Durashade rigid PVC vertical blinds, 89mm louvres, light-filtering finish, wand control

Timeline

Free survey to installation: two weeks

The office manager for this Bristol city centre business had replaced the same set of fabric vertical blinds twice in three years. They faded, drooped, and collected dust in a way that was difficult to clean without removing them entirely. The previous installer had fitted standard domestic-grade products in a commercial environment, and it showed.

Durashade rigid PVC vertical blinds are a different product category entirely. The louvres are solid PVC rather than fabric – they don’t sag, they don’t fade, and they wipe clean with a damp cloth in seconds. For a commercial space, they’re inherently flame retardant to BS5867 and anti-microbial as standard, with no additional treatments required. The wand control system eliminates chains entirely, which matters for both safety compliance and aesthetics in a client-facing office.

Two years on, this installation looks the same as it did on the day it went in. The office manager has since asked us to spec the same product for a second site.

Share your experience

If we’ve worked in your home or business, we’d genuinely love to hear from you. Reviews matter enormously for a small, independent business on Gloucester Road – they’re the main way new customers in Bristol find us and decide whether to get in touch.

An honest review on Google or Facebook takes two minutes, and it makes a real difference. If everything went well, we’d be grateful if you’d say so. And if anything wasn’t right, please contact us directly first – we’d much rather put it right than have an issue go unresolved.
